British exports, David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have been cast in sci-fi-thrilled God Particle to be directed by Julius Onah and produced by Paramount along with Star Wars: The Force Awakens director, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.
According to The Wrap – the story centers on “an American space station crew who, believing they have destroyed Earth via a Hadron accelerator, allow the crew of hostile nations to board their ship with disastrous results.”
Both actors have been quite busy as of late, with upcoming projects on the horizon. Mbatha-Raw will be featured alongside Matthew McConaughey in the period drama – Free State of Jones where she will portray the wife of McConaughey’s character.
Oyelowo, is both producer and star of the controversial film, Nina, starring Afro-Latina actress Zoe Saldana, whose casting as the iconic singer and activist Nina Simone has ruffled many feathers and caused an uproar on social media following the debut of the trailer that did very little to assuage naysayers.
The film is scheduled to open in theaters on April 22, Oyelowo will also be seen in Disney’s Queen of Katwe with Lupita Nyong’o and in Belle helmer, Amma Asante’s A United Kingdom with Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike.
God Particle is still in the early stages of development but the film has already been issued the release date of Feb. 24, 2017.
