British exports, David Oyelowo and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have been cast in sci-fi-thrilled God Particle to be directed by Julius Onah and produced by Paramount along with Star Wars: The Force Awakens director, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.
According to The Wrap – the story centers on “an American space station crew who, believing they have destroyed Earth via a Hadron accelerator, allow the crew of hostile nations to board their ship with disastrous results.”
The man responsible for the never-ending franchise that has spanned generations with a newly endowed installment that is currently shattering the global box office and is on course to be the highest grossing film of all time is seemingly having a hard time navigating the potency of the force behind his empowered legacy.
Lupita Nyong’o was quite a sight at the highly charged Hollywood premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Monday night.
The Mexican-born Kenyan actress looked regal in an out-of-this-world confection by Alexandre Vaulthier. When asked how she settled on her sparkly number, Nyong’o charmingly replied, “I thought I would bring the galaxy with me”.
British-Nigerian actor John Boyega instantly became a household name when he was added to the illustrious list of cast members of one of the most anticipated films in recent history – not to mention an endearingly revered saga that has effortlessly evolved into an American intitution.
Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o is proving that her good luck streak will not be diverted anytime soon. Months ago, it was reported that she was being considered by J.J. Abrams for the next Star Wars installment.
It’s official! The “galaxy far, far away” is about to be populated with new faces, but for those of us who fell in love with the original three, it’s hard to imagine our staples being left out in the cold.

Thankfully, we won’t have to mourn their absence because it has been confirmed that Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) will be back to dazzle a new generation of fans in the next chapter of this imposing saga – Star Wars VII.
J.J. Abrams will surely have a lot to live up to considering the dynamite success of George Lucas’ beloved franchise, but we have a feeling that he is aware and ready to conquer!
These are the faces of tomorrow! (Well, some of them anyway)
Now that we have established the return of the core characters, it’s time to take in the rest of the cast who will be lending themselves to what could potentially be career-making roles. Adam Driver (Girls), Andy Serkis (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), British-Nigerian actor John Boyega (Half of a Yellow Sun), Daisy Ridley (Mr. Selfridge), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Domhnall Gleason (About TIme), and veteran actor Max von Sydow will all join the inter-galactic warfare that will be unleashed sometime in 2015.
It’s an interesting bag of unknowns, relative unknowns and established names, and that signals the fact that casting took this job very seriously.
We are hopeful that this will be a box office giant when it roars into theaters next year. In the meantime, we are waiting with bated breath for those torturous set pics that we all love so much.
It’s officially on! Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o is proving that her soaring popularity isn’t waning anytime soon. Just mere weeks after garnering the highest honor in the land, Nyong’o is being seriously considered for the female lead in the latest installment of the Star Wars saga.
