Donald Trump definitely embodies a universe that allows him to pretty much do or say whatever he pleases no matter how disastrous the consequences may be.
But this time – he might have met his match and we’re guessing that when it comes to butting heads with the world’s most lucrative singer – he is completely out of his league.
Word has it that the presidential hopeful and official bully of the United States has been pumping up his rallies across the country with the hit singles Rolling in the Deep and Skyfall – even though the British crooner never gave her blessing.
Apparently Trump is an avid fan of the singer which was demonstrated when he attended her recent concert in New York City which gave onlookers a reason to acknowledge his presence in varying ways – depending on their political persuasions.
Trump’s allegiance to Adele is understandable given her infinite talent and global appeal but unfortunately the feeling is far from mutual. A spokesperson for the singer confirmed to CNN that there was no prior notification from Trump’s camp that indicated that any of her songs would be used during his campaign.
“Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning”.
When asked of she plans on taking legal steps to prevent her music from being manipulated by Trump’s politically inclined efforts – her rep simply replied “we have no further comment”.
Only time will tell if Adele decides to take extra measures to distance herself from one of the most obnoxious political campaigns in history but if she does stand up against the loud-mouthed businessman – she won’t be the first to do it.
Aerosmith’s Steve Tyler and former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe have both vocally expressed their disapproval with Trump’s use of their songs without their permission and took the steps necessary to bring an end to his illegal access.
Perhaps, Trump should consider the offerings of bands or singers that share his warped sense of what makes “America Great”.
