The Red Carpet was lit up with a steady stream of impeccable confections that dutifully adhered to the spirit of the themes that currently plague the runways.

Defined silhouettes, luscious textures and vibrantly bold hues ruled the night complimented by starkly tonal makeup and tempered tresses.

Here are the looks that captured our attention.

Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera

Jodie Foster in Armani

Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior

The show itself was well maneuvered by hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler with hysterical intervals provided by presenters Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell and the eccentric scene stealer Sacha Baron Cohen.

Homeland proved to be a home run, Quentin Tarantino finally got his due, and Lena Dunham had a Girls night out!

Former president Bill Clinton made a surprise visit and was expectedly received by thunderous applause.

Actress Jodie Foster was the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille award and her acceptance speech was by far the best part of the show. She managed to address the most controversial aspect of her life with humor, dignity and grace. It was a beautifully composed symphony that hit the right notes at the right time and left all who heard it in awe.
