The MTV Movie Awards dominated the airwaves last night…well sort of, the reports are not in yet. But it was the standard fare with host Russell Brand back with his special brand of punishing humor reserved for the pompous victimless crowd of overly inflated celebs.
Charlize Theron in Lanvin
Actors John Travolta, Charlie Sheen and Michael Fassbender received the brunt of his daggers. Michael Fassbender for good reason, his world famous member will probably never be a subject we will tire of hearing about.
The highlights included actor Johnny Depp dazzling us with his charm and rocker boy antics as he accepted his Generation Award and then proceeded to handle his guitar like a pro as he performed with The Black Keys.
Christian Bale and his co-stars with the assistance of director Christopher Nolan gave us a delectable first taste of the highly anticipated summer blockbuster The Black Knight Rises. But before the sneak peak, there was a touching montage that included the first two films, and Bale tearfully remembered actor Heath Ledger who died in 2008 the same year The Dark Knight was released. It was touching and unexpected.
The rest of the show was predictable with a few cutesy moments tossed in the mix. The red carpet had a lot more to offer and we have our picks for the best look of the night.
