In the revolving world of television, it’s very common to witness something old become something new again. The nineties was the decade when all the seeds were planted and the results have blossomed into branches of reality TV shows and now an old staple is being fertilized for another go round.
MTV’s House of Style was a fashion magazine show hosted by Cindy Crawford and a bevy of other supermodels, including Rebecca Romijn, Molly Sims, and Amber Valetta. The series debuted in 1989, at a time when Supermodels were all the range and being featured in every medium imaginable. House of Style was formatted to give viewers open access into the seductively hidden world of modeling and all the fantastical chaos that comes with it. It ended its run in 2009 but it looks like producers are ready to proceed with an updated version of the template, but they need a host first. Sophia Rai, vice president of digital production at MTV hinted at the prospect of announcing a host soon and this time both sexes will be considered, since the goal is to find the right person who will serve as the ultimate representative of the brand.
For those of you who were too young or just oblivious of the show’s existence you can familiarize yourselves with past episodes at MTV Style before October 9, which is the date the show makes its much anticipated return to the airwaves.
