Resident designer Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, is still riding high from her very successful public outing as the dressmaker responsible for the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding attire.
Now she is back with more mouthwatering confections that look decadent enough to stand the test of time. The fall 2012 lookbook features pieces that echo the romanticism of eras past, interwoven in almost fantastical themes. The richly textured fabrics and deeply spiced hues were the perfect template for bustier dresses, cape-inspired coats and the waist-conscious riding jackets that dominated the catalogue.
Burton is definitely an expert when it comes to heightening the dramatics and her love for all things lush and velvety makes it so easy to fall in love with all her offerings.
The new Heroine bag also made its debut, and its functionality is apparent thanks to its accommodating width. The side zippers are also a nice touch.
It’s safe to say that this remarkably gorgeous collection is a fairytale come true.
