After all the dramatics, the elephant in the room has disappeared thanks to a unanimous decision concerning the schedule for fashion week this fall.
It has been announced that the CFDA and the British Council have gracefully succumbed to the pressure and decided the best way to end the months of strife would be to adjust their schedule. This means that New York Fashion Week will now begin on September 6th and end on the 13th, which clears the headache that Milan presented when they refused to make allowances for the fact that Labor Day, a U.S. holiday, was threatening to interfere with an otherwise stringent calendar. London Fashion Week will have the September 14th to 18th dates and Milan will happily keep their preferred September 18th to 25th dates. Paris will wrap up festivities by claiming the dates September 25th to October 2nd.
Its so nice to finally breathe a sigh of relief and move forward after all the haze of speculations and uncertainty. But most importantly it proves that no matter what: The Show Must Go On!
