Karl Lagerfeld has never been known to hold his tongue or back down from a challenge. He has conquered every genre he has attempted to pursue;
from his kaleidoscopic designs for Chanel and Fendi, to his offshoots of designing bottles for Diet Coke to even books, Lagerfield has left no stone unturned and now he is applying his unique flexibility to home décor.
The German born, Paris based King of Couture, has now unveiled a classically modern themed 16-piece glassware collection that he designed with the help of Swedish company Orrefors. The goblets and tumblers are shaded in clear, sheer black or white, which clearly matches the look Lagerfield has been known to embrace. He is a master when it comes to minimal chic so it’s only natural that his crystal collection would echo the same sentiment.
Lagerfield is quite proud of the results of his recent venture and even highlighted the fact that his tumblers come attached with matching coasters, which he described as a “coupette”. As a worldly collector of beautiful things, naturally he would insist on including such a feature considering how destructive glasses can be to table surfaces.
Orrefors by Karl Lagerfeld will certainly attract customers searching for the perfect compliment to their already modern and elegantly basic kitchenware.
