Creed star, Tessa Thompson is definitely on a roll, thanks to her breakout performance in the 2014 sleeper hit Dear White People.
Thompson also starred in the critically-acclaimed and Oscar-nominated film, Selma and she will be prominently featured in HBO’s upcoming series, Westworld.
Now, it has been confirmed that Thompson has been added to the illustrious cast of the third installment of the Thor franchise.
Thor 3, which begins shooting this June under the direction of Taika Waititi, will welcome back most of the big names that started the journey of Marvel’s creation that centers on the adventures of the Norse god of thunder.
Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as the well-equipped superhero, Tom Hiddleston and Jaime Alexander are also returning. Mark Ruffalo will make an appearance as Bruce Banner/The Hulk and Cate Blanchett is also joining the main players for another round of delightful mayhem.
Natalie Portman will not be back to reclaim the role of Dr. Jane Foster – and there is speculation that Thompson will embody a character similar to the one Portman is leaving open.
Thompson will soon begin filming Annihilation – which is poised to be the follow up to Alex Garland’s hit – Ex-Machina. Portman will also star in the film that begins shooting this spring.
