Fashion Police is in trouble and unfortunately this isn’t an unexpected forecast considering the impact the late Joan Rivers had on the show.
Fashion Police has basically self-detonated and all it took was for co-host Giuliana Rancic to recite a tasteless joke about Zendaya’s gorgeous locks, which she sported at the 2015 Oscars. After Rancic declared that Zendaya looked like she smelled of weed and pitchouli oil – social media went into overdrive, forcing Rancic to issue a seemingly heartfelt apology while ushering the departure of long time staple Kelly Osbourne, a dear friend of Zendaya who clearly wasn’t comfortable with the publicity the ill-fated joke had garnered. Or maybe she just felt the way most of us do and decided that perhaps Fashion Police without the grand dame isn’t worth inhabiting.
So, after just seven episodes, Kathy Griffin who was brought in to save day, is willingly vacating the throne she recently assumed. The revered comedian took to twitter to explain her decision, “After seven episodes of Fashion Police, I discovered that my style does not fit with the creative direction of the show and now its time to move on.
That was quick! But we get it. You can check out her full statement here. In the meantime, we can’t wait to see how the producers at E! scramble to fix this ongoing predicament, since they are now left with Rancic and celebrity stylist Brad Goreski.
We are betting on the fact that Fashion Police is flatlining and maybe it’s time to pull the plug. But the network responsible for the torture device otherwise known as The Kardashians will find a way to keep hope alive.
