Marion “Suge” Knight is a name that is synonymous with mayhem and in true fashion the co-founder of Death Row Records is back in the spotlight and this time the stakes are even higher.
The former hip-hop impresario was on the set of his new film Straight Outta Compton, a biopic based on the formation of NWA, when things got heated between Knight and two men whose identities haven’t been disclosed.
Based on a preliminary investigation conducted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in West Hollywood, Knight ended up running down both guys with his truck killing one of them and seriously injuring the other.
Apparently this all went down in the parking lot of a burger joint where the men were hanging out after the argument. It is believed that Knight followed them there with the purpose of seeking revenge. Witnesses testified to the fact that both men were struck by the truck being driven by Knight – who promptly drove away after the attack.
Knight is currently in custody pending a $2 million bail and despite the severity of his case, his attorney, James E. Blatt is remarkably confident that his client will see the light of day once the charges are dropped, “We are confident that once the investigation is completed, he will be totally exonerated”.
