The Tupac Shakur biopic – All Eyez On Me – is slowly taking shape as casting is currently underway and almost compeleted.
It has been confirmed that actress and playwright Danai Gurira from The Walking Dead whose Broadway-bound play – Eclipsed, also stars Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o – will play Tupac’s mother – Afeni Shakur.
The ambitious project is being executive produced by the iconic rapper’s mother which gives her the entitlement to control how the depiction of her son’s dramatic story ultimately plays out.
Newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. who bears an uncanny resemblance to Tupac, will portray the late California based artist while The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham has been tapped to play Jada Pinkett Smith who famously shared a close bond with legendary talent.

Director Benny Boom is helming the film that is currently in production in Atlanta, GA.
The plot will focus on the rapper’s rise to fame by showcasing pivotal events that shaped his trajectory – including his time behind bars and his affiliation with Death Row Records.
Despite major setbacks that threatened to derail the highly anticipated movie – things got back on track and it looks like we can finally look forward to a decently erected tribute to one of the most prolific artists of our time.
We will be paying close attention to this one!
