Ahead of the Met Ball that will be overtaking the city of New York in a few hours, Michelle Obama found time to pay homage to Vogue Magazine’s Queen Bee, Anna Wintour, who received the honor of having a newly formed institute at the Metropolitan Museum named after her.
After acknowledging Wintour’s obvious accomplishments and worthiness, the First Lady highlighted the reason why the crème de la crème of the fashion community were all enthusiastically gathered.
The new institute that took three years to formulate has a mission and it is simply to help foster the growth of future industry leaders in their quest for global domination.
The inspiration for this year’s gala falls on the shoulders of mid-century mastermind, designer Charles James.
Obama held her own next to the formidable editor in a beautifully tailored Naeem Khan gown.
