Premium eyewear manufacturers Luxottica and the CFDA have commissioned designer Nanette Lepore to participate in the 2012 Design Series for Vogue Eyewear.
She joins an impressive list of former co-conspirators who had the honorable duty of collaborating with the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
Lepore who is known for her sedately glamorous offerings hopes to apply that same principle to her custom made sunglasses. She also cites actress Emma Roberts as the inspiration behind the creamy and vampy cat-eye silhouette prototype. In the early stages of development, she reveled in the old days of Hollywood, particularly the Twenties and followed the scene back to the present and somehow Roberts stood out because of her imposing youth, keen sense of style and effortless chic.
But at the end of the day, Lepore is driven by a need to create formidable frames made out of the best materials and sculptured with perfect precision. Basically all the qualities that make eyeglasses a must have accessory regardless of your optical proficiency.
Thankfully you wont have to pay through the nose or wait too long to sport these one of a kind gems. They retail for about $129.95, and they will be populating a select number of Sunglass hut stores in October.
