Whitney Houston, one of the most iconic and respected singers of our time died Saturday afternoon around 3:55pm at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
At the time of her death, the only details that were shared was the fact that she was found unconscious in her hotel room and all attempts to revive her failed.
Now a day later, more deets have emerged that paint a rather gruesome picture of how the 48-year-old Queen of Pop was discovered.
It has been confirmed that her entourage were concerned after waiting for about an hour for Houston to be done with her bath, when her hairdresser walked into the bathroom, she was alarmed to find the singer partially immersed in a tub full of water. The paramedics were called but by then it was too late. There is speculation that Houston accidentally drowned after falling into a deep sleep, which can happen after mixing alcohol with prescription pills like Xanax.
A few days before her death, pictures of Houston making the rounds at the Pre-Grammy bashes and stumbling out of nightclubs in LA hit the web, and it was pretty apparent that she was not faring well. She seemed disheveled and not in the best shape physically.
The saddest part of this ongoing saga is the fact that such an amazing and gifted songbird who burst on the scene as a fresh-faced innocent 18-year-old who would go on to stun the world with a voice that knew no bounds, died in such a tragic circumstance.
Nothing can bring her back, but we are so blessed and lucky to have the honor of enjoying the legacy she left behind.
Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan are scheduled to pay tribute to Houston during Sunday’s Grammy Awards. May they both do her justice!
