Diane von Furstenberg proved once and for all why she has maintained a loyal and steady following for decades thanks to her divinely implemented showing two days ago.
Models breezed by armed with pieces that were vibrantly titillating and constructively modern with just the right dash of glam needed to make any cosmopolitan woman swoon. There was certain je ne sais quoi theme in the air, which could be due to the fact that Yvan Mispelaere, DVF’s creative director, used his obvious roots to spice up the simmering themes and the result was a mouth-watering brew that satisfied every palette.
The hues were bold and glaring departure from Von Furstenberg’s signature print pattern. But change can be a good thing and in this case it was refreshingly executed, from the strong red tones to the rich burgundy and of course the necessary shades of black, all the pieces benefited from the energetic the color schemes.
The lines were clean and thoroughly constructed with attention paid to detailed body formation. Von Furstenberg has always been an expert when it comes to celebrating and enhancing femininity and her latest collection plays on that idea in a uniquely functional but yet edgy way.
Von Furstenberg infused her love for the city life without the grittiness and produced well-complied vignettes, complete with elegantly defined contoured pieces and dramatically symmetrical structures.
Being a woman never looked so good!
