It’s hard to believe that Meryl Streep, one of the most beloved and talented actresses of our time is striking a pose for Vogue magazine for the very first time!
The still youthful 63-year old is garnering praises and rave reviews for her compelling and astounding portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the soon to be released flick, The Iron Lady. The previews show Streep bearing a remarkable resemblance to the title character as well as embracing the formidable and resolute qualities that made Thatcher earn her endearing nickname.
She is now poised to once again dominate the awards circuit in a couple of weeks and she is very likely going to strut up the stage on Oscar night to claim another Best Actress statue.
In the January issue, Streep talks about her long and fruitful career and her lucky breaks along the way. She also points out that she was almost convinced the joyride would be over by the time she hit 40. Boy was she wrong! She is still making waves and proving that she is a force to be reckoned with in a town that’s still obsessed with youth and beauty.
You can read more about it when the new issue hits newsstands Dec. 20.
