In the midst of what most have classified as a mental breakdown, which tends to plague self-professed geniuses from time to time, Rapper turned designer turned Kardashian – Kanye West is still reminding fans why his prolific delivery is second to none.
His video for All Day/I Feel Like That, which is not included in the track list of his recently released LP, The Life of Pablo, can now be viewed online. The 9-minute video that was shot in three takes, already debuted during Paris Fashion week last March while the rapper was completing his residency for Fondation Louis Vuitton.
Director Steve McQueen who helmed the Oscar-winning film 12 Years a Slave, was recruited by West to breathe life into his visual fantasy after the British filmmaker who also has a deep-rooted history with abstract photography – attended the Kimye nuptials in 2014.
Jay-Z’s former protégé expressed his sentiments regarding McQueen’s involvement during the screening in Paris, “I elevated my palate. I wanted him to be in charge”. “It wasn’t overly though-out. …He came to our wedding, also”.
Sounds like something Yeezy would say – and judging from the finished product there is every indication to believe that this was a match made in heaven.
West is given free reign as he dominates the space of what appears to be an abandoned warehouse with large speakers. The focus is primarily on his movements and reactions to the environment he’s in and how the verses motivate his obvious sense of urgency and restlessness.
The video was leaked online the morning of Feb. 22. If this increases your appetite for more – you can head over to Tidal and fulfill your appetite and maybe help with that “debt situation” that apparently is in its crucial stages.
Or not.
