Ronda Rousey isn’t going down without another fight. She is determined to make her comeback back challenging Holly Holm’s Ultimate Fighting Championship title.
Dana White, president of U.F.C confirmed the impeding match, which is tentatively scheduled for July 9 in Las Vegas to The Los Angeles Times.
Rousey’s very public defeat came as a huge surprise to fans who billed the Furious 7 actress as virtually unbeatable but Holm was able to knock out Rousey in the second round in a match that took place in Melbourne, Australia last month. It was a shattering defeat that not only left Rousey battered and bruised but also forced her to seek immediate medical attention.
Her critics were lethal with glee but her avid supporters expressed their dismay and sent their best wishes to Rousey who had to be suspended for 180 days in order to fully recover from the head injuries she sustained from the blows she accommodated from Holm.
Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez made it pretty clear to The Los Angles Times that his client isn’t necessarily waiting for Rousey to get back in shape for their rematch. The champion fighter apparently has her sights set on another contender, Miesha Tate.
But the U.F.C. has overall jurisdiction when it comes to who their fighters battle it out with so most likely we will have another chance to see both Rousey and Holm dance around the ring.
And this time – it’s personal.
