Tracy Reese has always excelled in drawing from the most basic strings of femininity. This time her collection echoed the same sentiment but there was also splashes of the unexpected intertwined.
The silhouettes were constructed to evoke an ethereal quality which translated into chic “ballerina” attire, complete with flowy skirts, gauzy coverings, energetic leotards matched with blazers and sweaters that would make any hardcore dancer swoon.
It was a fitting homage to Reese’s childhood, as she fondly celebrates her mother and her aunt who were both dancers. The hues were softy provocative but also electrically vibrant. There was also an interplay of prints and patterns as they each delightfully fought for attention. As always there was a formal delicacy served up in the choice of fabric but somehow the level of functionality still remains at an all time high.
All in all Tracy Reese continued where she left off by dazzling us with the supreme reason why being a girl is more than just an emotion. It’s a statement.
