There is nothing like strutting down the street with an amazing accessory that not only looks good but is also inspired by a good cause.
Enter the Puma Grip Bag, a perfectly brilliant blue confection whipped up by designer Sakina M’Sa who was obliged to pay homage to her company workers by using their recycled blue overalls to create her newest but limited collection. M’Sa, who has quite the colorful background, having been born in the Comoros Islands and raised in France, was driven by the determination of her blue collar workers and needed an outlet to document their realities. She explains to WWD, “I was interested in telling our story, through this bag”. She has a history of humanitarian efforts; she was bestowed with the Social Entrepreneurs Awards, which was given to her by The PPR Foundation for Women’s Dignity and Rights in 2010. PPR managers who ironically had her company audited this year spearheaded this recent project.
Merci, a Paris based store will be selling a helping of these coveted bags for 350 euros which comes out to about $475.
This is an awesome way to stylishly draw attention to an issue that plagues a lot of manufacturing outlets globally.
