Real Housewives of New York Shakeup

Wow! Never thought I would see the day that Jill Zarin would be handed her walking papers but that day has allegedly arrived. BRAVO has made it official! Zarin, Kelly Bensimon and Alex McCord are out! And of course Cindy Barshop will not be returning which makes tons of sense considering she walked around the whole of last season looking like a deer in headlights. But it is quite surprising that Jill Zarin was not asked back, and her nemesis Ramona Singer whose dependency on Pinot grigio was quite entertaining and disturbing at the same time is officially still in the game. So are Countess De Lesseps and Sonja Morgan. Jill seemed like she was a staple of the show but I guess nothing at BRAVO is considered a done deal! Kelly Bensimon was quite frankly a walking a disaster, and brought nothing to the show remotely resembling the life of a “Housewife”, she seemed to be basking in her fleeting “model” capacity. Alex McCord and her beyond annoying better half, Simon Van Kemp whose attempt at a musical career is laughable at best were also an odd piece of the puzzle. It is quite interesting that despite Sonja Morgan’s overwhelming and public financial struggles, she was invited back. I guess her penchant for raising the bar in the ‘Shock value” department helped guarantee a call back. As unexpected as this seems, there is also an excitability attached to it when you ponder who the newbies will be and how they will change the dynamic of the show. I guess all we can do is stay tuned!
