ARISE magazine rose to the occasion last night when their hand chosen designers took over the magnificent Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan, and wowed us with the best their continent has to offer. The designers featured were: Tsemaye Binitie, Lanre Da Silva (who unfortunately took a rather steep fall during her victory lap after her show), Asibelua, Bunmi Koko, Kluk CGDT, Pierre-Antoine Vettorello and Jewel By Lisa. The main theme that ran through all the designs were durability and versatility. All the clothes echoed images of Africa with a modern day twist. There were also sprinkles of vibrant hues etched in rich flowy fabrics. It was hard to ignore the hints of body-conscious pieces that highlighted the best the female form has to offer. From the intricate details to the eye-catching prints, there was a lot to drool over and be proud of if you had even a small pint of African blood running through your veins. The show was an absolute stunner and it ended on a melodious note when British singer Leona Lewis took the stage.
