Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o is proving that her good luck streak will not be diverted anytime soon. Months ago, it was reported that she was being considered by J.J. Abrams for the next Star Wars installment.
The cast announcements were made a few weeks ago, and it was seemingly evident that Nyongo’s involvement was just a well-intentioned rumor.
But it looks like the joke is on us, because it has been confirmed that the Mexican-born Kenyan actress will indeed be joining the beloved franchise. That is probably why she was sporting a radiant glow, decked out in a black and white sundress at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Jersey City this past weekend.
As expected there is a lot of excitement surrounding her latest gig, but there isn’t much back information regarding her character. But we are sure that in due time, all will be revealed.
The film, which is, based on a script by director J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan is currently shooting in London and Abu Dhabi. The saga continues – 30 years from the story that cemented 1983’s Return of the Jedi.
