BRAVO’s “Fashion Hunters” Is A Treasure

For fashion hawks everywhere, you will find your prey in BRAVO’s new addition to their fall lineup, Fashion Hunters.

This is a world where trade and barter revolves around designer treasures and the NYC socialites, who harbor them and then amply dump their wares at trendy consignment stores. The “hunters” go through the whole manifesto to ensure the goods they are being delivered are the real deal.

Second Time Around is the chosen destination store for all things FAB and CHIC that are reasonably priced and authenticated. Even Barney New York’s creative director and fashion guru, Simon Doonan gets called in occasionally to unleash his expertise and determine the keepers and losers of the bunch. So far, we have learned that anything without a label is suspect, much to the chagrin of the sellers, and the guarded relief of the potential buyers, who can’t afford to taint their reputation by mistaking an imitation for a designer label.

The best part of the show is watching the fashionably versed team which consists of Kara Lepiner, Ambria Miscia, Tara Muscarella, and Wilson Payamps, visit the homes of the elite and literally ransack their closets, searching for buried gems. Not a bad way to spend a rainy afternoon in the city.
