New Trailer for ‘The Magnificent Seven’ Highlights Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt as Vengeful Outlaws
Hollywood is on a mission to resurrect classics that need mandatory introduction to the generation that missed out but now has the chance to partake in the updated releases.
The trailer for The Magnificent Seven that reunites Training Day’s director Antoine Fuqua with his stars, Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke, made it’s online debut on Wednesday and it looks like the formula that heralded the 1960 Western that starred Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen is dutifully intact.
The story is inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 gem – Seven Samurai – and follows the expoits of seven men who are tasked with the mission of rescuing the battered town of Rose Creek from the grasps of a deadly renegade played by Peter Sarsgaard.
Things take a different turn when their motives evolve into much more than just profitable returns.
The rest of the cast includes Chris Pratt, Vincent D’Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Martin Sensmeier.
Fuqua, who helped to launch the film’s official launch at CinemaCon last week, seized the opportunity to summarize the overriding premise of his latest efforts, “it’s about redemption and the pursuit of justice.”
The Magnificent Seven will hit theaters on Sept. 23.
