The Golden Globes took place on Sunday night, with host Ricky Gervais returning to wreck more chaos and mayhem.
The British comedian actor did justice to Caitlyn Jenner and Ben Affleck among others but his antics paled in comparison to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Taraji P. Henson.

But first, respect must be paid to the funniest and classiest duo of the night – No, not Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence who attempted to validate their besties status but unfortunately only ended up being the most annoying blondes in the room.
However, actresses America Ferrera and Eva Longoria succeeded stealing the spotlight as they each brought attention to Hollywood’s nonchalant attitude and negligence when it comes to the subject of ethnicity. Both gals have endured being mistaken for other Latina actresses and their skit hilariously called attention to the folly.
Mendes began by assuring the audience that she was in fact “Eva Longoria, not Eva Mendes”. And Ferrera declared that she was not Gina Rodriguez. And both actresses ended with the final zinger as they chided, “And neither of us are Rosario Dawson”. Ouch!
Quentin Tarantino’s speech on behalf of composer Ennio Morricone who won Best Original Score for The Hateful Eight was a weird combustion of senseless gabble that had the word “ghetto” inexplicably tossed in the mix, which didn’t sit well with social media or fellow collaborator, comedian and actor Jamie Foxx who found didn’t let the spirited filmmaker’s unfortunate mistake go unnoticed. The filmmaker clearly took advantage of the free alcohol and lost his head. Still, it was definitely the most awkward speech of the night.
Empire’s Taraji P. Henson however, had no problem rising to the occasion when her name was called as the winner in the Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama category.
As the actress made her way to the stage – she took the time to hand out cookies to random folks who greeted her with enthusiasm as she made way through the crowd.
Once on stage, Henson graciously accepted her award and refused to be run off the stage citing the fact that she has “waited 20 years” for the moment she was basking in.
Esteemed actor Denzel Washington forgot his glasses, which rendered him helpless as his acceptance of the Cecil B. DeMille Award. But his struggle only made him seem even cuter than ever before.

Lady Gaga won for her high-praised performance in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story. The singer and actress gave actor Leonardo DiCaprio quite a scare as she made her to the stage. She can be seen swiping the hot throb’s elbow and this startles DiCaprio who makes the funniest face you’ve ever seen.
The Revenant actor also took home the Golden Globe for his role in the film that sucked away the force from the latest installment of Star Wars at the box office this past weekend.
The film also won Best Picture, Drama and Alejandro G. Inarritu took home the prize for best director.
All in all it was a night that dished out standard fare while also forecasting what to expect from the Oscars.
It is quite evident that this will most likely be the year Leonardo DiCaprio takes home the Oscar after countless nominations and zero wins. Brie Larson who won Best Actress, Drama for her role in Room will also be bequeathed with an Academy Award.
We’ll have to find out how the rest will play out on February 27 when the Oscars will be broadcast live on ABC – in the meantime we still have a lot of partying to do as the next award on the list – The 21st Critics’ Choice Awards is scheduled for January 17 – airing live at 8pm ET/PT on A&E.
