Cover Trends: Lupita and Beyonce Rule the World!

This has been a prolific week for both Lupita Nyong’o and Beyonce to say the least.

People Magazine crowned Nyong’o “Most Beautiful”, and seeing the dazzling 31-year-old on the cover proves that this is a well-deserved honor.

The Mexican-born Kenyan actress who can add Oscar-winner to her already impressive resume, thanks to her affecting performance in 12 Years a Slave, is knocking down all the barriers in the industry, and all she had to do was be herself.

Nyong’o has confessed her struggles as a teen with accepting her features especially when the global appeal seemed to rely on “Light skin and long, flowing, straight hair”. But her mother was adamant about reinforcing her daughter’s beauty, and the stunning actress eventually learned to appreciate her template.

Fast-forward to the present and practically the whole world can’t enough of Nyong’o who was just recently recruited by Lancome Paris to be their roving ambassador.  She was also wooed by Miu Miu to star in their Spring 2014 campaign. The hits just keep on coming, but don’t think it’s all going to her head.

Nyong’o is understandably humbled by her latest achievement, mainly because it will allow impressionable young girls to use her as their inspiration.

But at the end of the day, she is convinced that happiness is the key ingredient when it comes to looking your best.

We couldn’t agree with her more and judging by all the accolades and adulations – we are guessing that she will continue to look breathtakingly beautiful indefinitely.

TIME Magazine unleashed their list of The 100 Most Influential People, and the names ranged from Hillary Clinton to openly gay NBA player, Jason Collins, but the one notable that everyone can’t stop talking about is Beyonce Knowles.

The 32-year-old multi-talented superstar, who is married to another incomparable talent, rapper Jay-Z, not only made the cut, but is also gracing the cover.

From “Survivor” to “Drunk in Love”, Beyonce has been on her game without dropping the ball, which is quite a feat considering that she is also mother to 2-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

She was obviously not kidding back in 2011 when she roared the anthem for the ages – “Run The World (Girls).” She is living proof that you can have it all if you believe hard enough and work even harder.

Beauty, brains, pools of talent and lots of luck combined to produce the two women that are blazing the trails for the next generation.
