This past Saturday, British actress Tilda Swinton executed her one-person production titled “The Maybe” at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art, and the visual was artistically primal.
Tilda Swinton dramatizes “Living artist, glass, steel, mattress, pillow, linen, water and spectacles”.
Onlookers were invited to simply gaze at the actress, comfortably tucked in a glass box…and that was about it. Every artistic endeavor encourages the celebration of the unspoken with the metaphoric references. This public display of attention definitely got eager minds working overtime.
Swinton is scheduled to stage her masterpiece at least six more times before the year runs out. This apparently isn’t this first time she has taken a public siesta, she debuted her skills at the Serpentine Gallery in London back in 1995, and then again at the Museo Barracco in Rome in 1996.
Who knew taking a nap could look so cool
