Actress Charlotte Gainsbourg has a career that many avant-garde actresses would consider a dream. Her pedigree is heavily laden with gratuitous non-conventionalism, thanks to her father French musician Serge Gainsbourg and mother British actress and singer Jane Birkin who both embodied the surreal essence of the 60’s.
Gainsbourg is proud of her notoriety but has clearly mapped out her own path which has included a vibrantly permeated resume with searing roles in almost every genre of film, not to mention her richly divine musical tendencies.
After suffering an almost fatal brain hemorrhage back in 2007, Gainsbourg became more aware of her mortality and in a way it allowed her to release herself from all her former inhibitions and embrace the idea of uncertainty.
Now she has teamed up with designer Tommy Hilfiger for an ad campaign shot by none other than Drew Barrymore, another actress with a techinicolor background.
The campaign is for a good cause and is aimed to raise awareness and provide financial support for Breast Health International, an organization chaired by Shelley Schwartz, whose mission is to give support to those suffering from cancer who need assistance with the little things like childcare, transportation, etc.
The ads feature limited edition totes designed by Hilfiger that retail for $298; the idea is that $100 from each sale will be released to the BHI Fund for Living Program.
The magical collabo took place at the legendary Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles and we have to admit that Barrymore definitely tapped into a hidden layer of talent to produce these gems.
Gainsbourg looks stunning and wistfully at ease in each shot as she cozies up to her navy and red companion.
If you want more of the 41-year-old beauty, you can check her out in her upcoming film Nymphomaniac, her third film with Danish director Lars von Trier. Gainsbourg plays the title character and as always she is thrust into plot that pushes the envelope as far as it can go. Rumors have been swirling that the sex scenes are not contrived but that has been emphatically discounted.
In the meantime, we can feast our eyes on the snapshots below and visit tommy.com to help stylishly support a worthy cause
