New York Fashion Week is officially called to order! And I was expectant and exciting to soak in the scene and capture as much of the action as my resources would allow.
I had the utmost pleasure of attending the Arise Magazine “African Icons” Show Extravaganza and it was an incredibly inspiring production! MTB will bring you all the deets this weekend.
But in the meantime I have to admit that I couldn’t help but bask in the light of the intensely micro chromatic traffic that filtered through Lincoln Center,Thursday afternoon. It’s a wonder that I am not suffering from neck pain! I wasn’t totally clueless to the fact that I would be mesmerized by the dazzling silhouettes strutting effortlessly by but I have to admit that the energy was kinetic! I couldn’t get help getting sucked into the vibes and the rhythm of the throbbing beat emanating from the beaming venue.
As a side note, earlier this summer I shared with you my joyful experience at the Inaugural Life with Vision Event that was staged in New York City, erected by media whiz Bevy Smith. I was absolutely ecstatic to see her not just visualized but actualized!!! What a way to usher in the new phase of my life as a budding fashion publicist! A goal that was re-furbished through my electrifying communion at the Life with Vision event this past June. Bevy Smith looked amazingly gorgeous and she was an intensifying magnet, drawing the best of the best to our corner. It was the icing on the cake and the perfect ending to a summer that was inflated with promise and peppered with hopeful confetti. Not to mention that my awesome jumpsuit was courtesy of Busayo, NYC, owned by Busayo Olupona, who is a fabulous designer based in New York and who I also had the pleasure of meeting at the Life with Vision event. See how all the dots are connecting? I did a piece on Busayo after I attended her truck show this past summer. Please check it out under the Africa Buzz category to get a good look at her stunning pieces.
Take in the images below and be warned that there will be more to come as we celebrate the most eccentrically delectable season of the year!
