Trendy Fashion Report: Highlights from Tokyo Fashion Week

Fashion Week seems to be a never-ending global enterprise with bountiful images of prints, exotic fabrics and futuristic templates. Of course the faucet of gorgeous models is a sight that never gets old.

Tokyo Fashion Week is currently underway and the looks on display don’t differ from what we have encountered from the previous showcases. The hues were vibrantly playful and there was a sense of dictatorial ownership of past eras, particularly the 80’s.

This was clearly evident in the collection from Etw. Vonneguet. Designer Olga demonstrated her nostalgic tendencies for the 80’s with her yards of ruffled and temperate magnificence splashed with confetti etches. The men were also well represented, with pieces that were elaborately sculptured to highlight their deliciously energetic orifices.

Another designer who is immersed in partisan interpretation is Chinatsu Wakatuski, both a designer and model, whose varied background has prepared and armed her with the instincts needed to successfully launch her own label. Her collection was a rousing parade of doll-like confections encased in multi-colored tutus, effervescent capsules of ruffles and embolic variations of denim. It was another justifiably fulgurant recall of the 80’s.

Wakatusuki needs to plant herself among the shrubs of the East or West Village in NYC for full gratification. But at least she was able to transform the runway into her righteous wonderland.
