H&M has had quite a fiesta when it comes to mouth-watering collabos with the best in the business, but now it looks like they may have struck gold!
British soccer god, David Beckham is their latest conquest and there can’t be a woman alive who isn’t beyond psyched about this!
Wednesday was the big reveal! We got to visualize Beckham in all his glory in pieces from his bodywear collection. The look book details nine various themes, with each drawing inspiration from Beckham’s relaxed and effortless style. That was always the main objective for the man who fell hard for and wed ex-Spice Girl and fashion icon Victoria Beckham. He explains how intent he was on being actively involved in the design process, he tells WWD, “Collectively, with my design team, we spent time working on the feel, fit and style to ensure the product is not only something I would wear but one that I would be proud to put my name on”.
The hues are also simplistically versatile; you can expect to see white, gray and black underpants, boxers and briefs in at least four varied styles. Throw that together with a helping of long johns, pajama pants and T-shirts, and you have an enticing dish of standard delicacies.
The price points are in tune with H&M’s usual offerings; nothing below $12.95 or above $29.95. Every purchase will greet you with proof of Beckham’s stamp of approval – “David Beckham Bodywear for H&M” alongside his very own personalized logo, created by Alasdhair Willis who happens to be married to Stella McCartney.
David Beckham is definitely a force to be reckoned with and H&M’s head of design Ann-Sofie Johansson is not only aware of this but intends to take full advantage of the star power and creative energy the distractingly sexy athlete exudes. The black and white campaign shots are already an indication of the greatness to come from this long-term collaboration.
Not a bad way to start off the New Year! The line will be available in stores worldwide on Feb 2nd.
