Don’t let her tough exterior full ya! After her relieving her stunning loss, which resulted in a knock out by Holly Holm last year, Ronda Rousey became emotional while admitting to Ellen DeGeneres that aside from her physical injuries, she was also mentally defeated.
The 29-year-old UFC fighter and burgeoning actress appeared on Monday’s Ellen Show and didn’t hold back when describing how she handled the agony of defeat.
“I was sitting there and thinking about killing myself and the exact second I’m like ‘I’m nothing, what do I do anymore and no one gives a s**t about me anymore without this”.
Sounds pretty dark, but ultimately it was Rousey’s current boyfriend, Travis Browne – who gave her the incentive to battle her demons, “To be honest I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like, I need to have his babies, I need to stay alive”.
The Furious 7 actress was able to flip the switch and recognize that “Every worst thing that happened in my life resulted in the absolute best things and I tried to think what is the reason of all this and I’m thinking like what my purpose is and maybe just winning all the time isn’t what’s best for everybody”.
Rousey seems to be back on track – and as she prepares for future film roles and a possible rematch with Holm – we can bet that this comeback story will be one for the history books.
