E! and Joel McHale Will Stop Serving ‘The Soup’ After 12 Delightful Years

Written by admin in at 7:56 pm
This is definitely the end of an era. It has been confirmed that E! has released actor-comedian Joel McHale from his serving duties as the host of the long-running clip show – The Soup.

After more than a decade of laughs at the expense of the home network and of course The Kardashians – the always reliably entertaining First Family of E! Television – it has been decided that all good things must come to an end.
Before McHale swooped in back in 2004 and energized the landscape of the show with his signature brand of irresistible wit and seamless humor, actor Greg Kinnear who laid the foundation back when it all started in 1991 followed by comedian Hal Sparks and The Talk’s Aisha Tyler- all have the pleasure of being a part of the legacy that made The Soup so darn fun to watch.
Jeff Olde, E!’s executive vp programming and development reflected on the uniqueness of the show which ultimately led to its enduring success and almost cult status, “We are incredibly proud of the long-running success of The Soup. The how has delivered countless laughs and unforgettable episodes, and we’re grateful to the talented team’s fearless wit and clever approach week after week”.
Olde went on to praise McHale for his immense and steadfast contribution, “Joel took the how to new heights for more than a decade, and his irreverent humor and unique brand of comedy as captured so perfectly on The Soup will be missed”.
E! will never be the same without the trusted institution that will undoubtedly make way for more Kardashian spinoffs because of course there can never be enough of those.
McHale for his part seems to be quite content with exiting the gig that opened numerous doors that have afforded him  film roles and his very own TV series , Community now playing on Yahoo.
He released a statement that hilariously summarizes why he will be so very missed “I loved doing The Soup for all of these years (86 to be exact) but am excited to solely focus on my acting career now,” McHale said. “Thanks to all who watched and thanks to Kim Kardashian’s ass for all that it’s done for me and my family.”
