Trendy Report: Bill and Hillary Clinton Musical Hits the U.S. Summer 2014

If you happen to be in NYC this summer, you must make every attempt to behold the musical that has been erected in honor of the former President and first lady.

Clinton has already garnered legions of fans from the other side of the pond. Back in 2012, the stylized production received a best new musical nomination from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It then went on to London’s King’s Head Theatre the following year.

It is only fair that Americans get a taste of what makes Clinton irresistible. Sometime in mid-July, the New York Musical Theatre, under the direction of Adam Arian, and the support of Michael Hodge, who supplies the music and lyrics will stage a replica of the musical that has already proved to be a major hit.

The good news is that you don’t have to be fans of the Clintons to enjoy the show. The synopsis is enough to make even the most avid hater consider a sneak peek. Check it out: “It’s hard enough being president by yourself. Bill Clinton’s problem is that there are two of him. Literally. Clinton follows two Bill Clintons (Yes two!) and Hillary on their quest to save their presidency, change America and prove that politics is show business for ugly people”.

The two-hour masterpiece will also feature an interesting mix of supporting characters, including Eleanor Roosevelt, Newt Gingrich, Kenneth Starr and of course the belle of the ball, Monica Lewinsky.

If you are intrigued, hold on until July 18, that’s the date assigned to the debut of Clinton at the Pershing Square Signature Center in New York City. It’s hard to imagine that it will be anything less than entertaining.

It’s debatable whether or not the timing will work in Hillary’s favor as she ponders a 2016 presidential run, but it can’t hurt – right?
