Warren Sapp, a Hall of Famer who was recognized for his skills as a defensive lineman is in hot water for soliciting prostitutes in Phoenix during Super Bowl weekend.
Sapp who was a recruited analyst for the NFL Network was fired from his gig after the recent revelations were made public.
This isn’t the first time the former Buccaneers’ star player has dominated the headlines. Sapp faced domestic abuse charges back in 2010 and 2014.
According to initial reports, Sapp invited two hookers to his hotel room and things got hectic when compensation became a factor. There was evidence of an altercation and as the dramatics heightened the women involved in the scandal abandoned ship and sought help from law enforcement.
The rest as they say is history but we can’t help pondering why high-profile figures succumb to the trappings of fame in ways that disintegrate their inedible contributions.
