As Tina Fey and co-conspirator Amy Poehler gear up for this Sunday’s Golden Globes, they are getting pummeled for the inside scoop regarding how they hope to shape this year’s show.
The Globes is one of the few award shows where getting wasted and blubbering your lines is expected and appreciated. Add the antics of two women who have forged an impressive career simply based on their ability to crack us up, and you are guaranteed a night of nonstop entertainment.
Comedians usually rely on the blueprint of pop culture, which includes the scandalous and downright trite elements to help fuel their inspiration, and we can’t imagine that there is a shortage in supply of material given the current headliners.
Fey, spoke to the Access Hollywood at the Television Critics Association winter press tour and confirmed that the celebrities in the room on Sunday night won’t have to worry about dodging bullets but one big name in particular who will not be in attendance definitely has plenty to worry about.
It is pretty much a given that embattled comedian, Bill Cosby, will be a source of great laughs during this award season. And the Golden Globes will be his first entry based on Fey’s answer when probed – “Oh heck yes!”
And there you have it! In reality, the possibility that the former beloved TV dad could have drugged and raped countless women is no laughing matter but this is show business, which means anything goes.
The Golden Globes will air on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET.
