Sunday night’s Oscars telecast was filled with a bevy of golden moments peppered with colorful music numbers that included a delightful tune dedicated to the actresses who have dared to bare their bossoms on screen, performed by host Seth MacFarlane and and a trolley of well suited lads.

There were also an unexpectedly refreshing performance by Charlize Theron and Channing Tatum who convincingly walzed their way through a fetching dance interlude. William Shatner helped kick off the show, dressed in his Star Trek regalia and regulated to a screen that conveniently appeared on stage.
It certainly didn’t take very long for the slapstick humor and celebrity disses to emerge but on the whole MacFarlane remained surprisingly stoic and contained and seemed focused on guiding the show from lift off to touch down without too much turbulence.
Highlights included the Bond 50th anniversary tribute, with the grand dame of them all Shirley Bassey shimmering on stage and raising the roof with her rendition of Goldfinger. Adele, Jennifer Hudson and Norah Jones also exercised their chords accordingly, as well as the rather impressive cast of Les Miserables.
It was all quite entertaining but the coolest momemt came when Jack Nicholson emerged to present the Best Picture award and announced that he wasn’t performing the task solo. The big reveal was First Lady Michelle Obama gorgeously poised in the White House, and eager to help bring the festivities to a fitting end. Argo won Best Picture and director/co-producer Ben Affleck delivered an emotionally charged acceptance speech that made us girls wish we could be Jennifer Garner – just for one night!

Aside from the scripted activities, The Red Carpet played host to a parade of full skirts, symmetrical cuts, and beaded confectionary. Despite the chilly weather, there were a lot of bare backs and ultra-high slits. There weren’t too many risk takers but the consensus overwhelmingly depicts that the gals for the most part chose wisely.
