Model and current Karl Lagerfield muse, Coco Rocha is launching a new jewelry line to support her entrée into the world of philanthropy.
Coco Rocha for Senhoa, is attached to the Senhoa, a home based organization whose mission is immersed in providing assistance to the helpless citizens of Cambodia who are targets of human trafficking.
Rocha couldn’t resist the urge to lend a hand especially after she unexpectedly received a unique sample as a wedding present from one of the local women. The bells started to ring and a business deal was born out of a kind gesture. Rocha and women of Senhoa formed a partnership whereby, the model turned designer comes up with the designs and aesthetics and the girls produce the final product. All proceeds go to the girls.
The handmade pieces are intricately designed, with a standard silver and gunmetal link chain as the base, and Swarovski beads in clear, black and multicolored hues are used as the adornments. You can expect to shell out anywhere from $60 to $195 for each of the pieces that comprise of earrings, bracelets and necklaces. If you are daring enough you can go for the body armor that retails for $995.
The pieces are fondly named after the local girls who help to put a personal stamp on the collection.
“Accessorize your Conscience”, is the slogan Rocha came up with to summarize her mission and encourage support. And judging from the pieces, and the enlistment of some of her model friends who have jumped onboard including industry legend, Iman, she won’t have that high of a mountain to climb.
