Hollywood Trends: Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi Answer the Call and Jodie Foster is a Golden Girl

Hurricane Sandy mercilessly pummeled the northeast and left acres of devastation in its wake. Hollywood has never been an institution to shy away from obligatory consciousness and that’s why its no surprise that the heavyweights are ready to gang up for a good cause.

It was announced Thursday that NBC Universal which encompasses NBC, MSNBC, BRAVO, E!, and the Style Network , G4, and USA will lend their airwaves to a concert staged by Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Sting and Christina Aguilera in a valiant effort to raise awareness for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Not a bad lineup! New Jersey natives Bon Jovi and Springsteen will undoubtedly rise to the occasion in honor of their now tattered state.

Today’s Matt Lauer and NBC talents Brian Williams and Jimmy Fallon will assist during the concert-free show that will air Friday at 8pm.

In other news actress Jodie Foster is slated for the ultimate honor at the Golden Globes, which will air January 13^th. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced via actors Simon Baker and Kristen Stewart that Foster will be bestowed the Cecile B. DeMille Award in recognition of her immense contribution to the industry at large.

The actress-director has benefited from the advantages of being a child star, and unlike most of her peers, refused to fall into the well of hopelessness. From her jarring role in Taxi Driver to her directorial debut, Little Man Tate, Foster has managed to sustain a richly textured career that deserves a mountain of accolades.
