Duro Olowu certainly knows how to paint a pretty picture. His Spring 2012 Collection which showcased at Milk Studios in Manhattan this past Saturday, featured an array of colorful patterns and ultra feminine silhouettes that would make any girly-girl’s mouth water with unquenchable thirst. As the models sashayed and paused to strike a pose, it was hard to ignore the gorgeous prints and intricate details of each garment. Olowu spared no expense this time around and incorporated all the elements that make for a well-balanced collection. Animal prints were blended in with different patterns sporting equally lively hues. Floral prints were also evident in romantic silk and chiffon fabrics. Almost all the dresses were long and flowed with ease giving that unbeatable “Cinderella” effect.
There is no question that Olowu’s approach this time around was more on the softer side. The cardigan effect with some of the gowns helped to make them more wearable and edgier.
And in the end, one can’t help thinking how much fun it is to be a GIRL.
