A TV remake of the blockbuster franchise – Lethal Weapon – that starred Danny Glover and Mel Gibson as mismatched cops storming the streets of LA to propel law and order is heading to the small screen.

After days of speculation and a teaser photo courtesy of Vin Diesel – it was confirmed on Thursday that Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray will helm the eighth installment of the billion dollar franchise that rocked the box office to its core this past spring. Gray tweeted his excitement at the prospect of garnering one of the most privileged assignments in Hollywood.
Turns out Vin Diesel is the reason why the scheduled premiere for Furious 7 which was supposed to be held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi on March 10 has been cancelled.
