Looks like getting older is working out well for Beatles legend, Paul McCartney and based on his latest project – things are about to get a whole lot better.
It’s been confirmed that the 73-year-old will join Johnny Depp in the sprawling franchise that keeps spawning more chaos and mayhem.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will be the fifth installment and as expected Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow will have to contend with delightfully barbaric fodder courtesy of a posse that will include returning co-stars, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa and Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar.
Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites are the new players to the maddening fold and key connector Orlando Bloom will be back as Will Turner.
McCartney’s contribution to the film will be as the notable extra, which is still more than enough to propel this starrer to “highly-anticipated” status.
The Pirates franchise definitely has a thing for rockers – remember Rolling Stones icon, Keith Richards in 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides? Richards played Captain Teague who also happened to be Sparrow’s father.
No way to tell how this latest offering will stand up to the rest but we won’t find out until the film’s official release date – May 26, 2017.
