NYFW: Jason Wu RTW Fall 2015

Jason Wu is definitely a master at erecting edgy pieces that don’t stray too far away from the shores of comfort and durability.

His latest collection has an elevated depth mixed with luxurious playfulness as he expertly douses his muses with richly defined coverings while also maintaining his signature adherence to cleanly structured lines.

His theme definitely heightens the fundamentals that encompass the modern day feminist. When asked to elaborate on how he amassed his inspiration, Wu confirmed his allegiance to the more accessible notion of a “superwoman” who possesses the power to be stylishly charming as she conquers her mandated tasks. “this superstrong woman, really glamorous, seductive”.

If this was Wu’s noble assignment, he passed with flying colors; His offerings sported the level of multifunctional tolerance that every woman fantasizes about. The well endowed separates that featured generous helpings of fur that complimented the more temperate underlings which helped to echo his need to keep the silhouettes as the main attraction.

The overall tone was a mixture of aquatic hues and sedate schemes with splashes of vibrancy that evoked a much-needed reprieve from the norm.

It was an awesome effort from the designer who never fails to present a consistently refreshing palette.
