NYFW: Rachel Comey RTW Fall 2015

Rachel Comey’s latest offering was brilliantly showcased in Brooklyn, NY, which was an appropriate choice considering the charmingly rudimentary aesthetic that was paraded during what turned out to be a feast of champions.

The likes of Tracee Ellis Ross, Parker Posey and Natasha Lyonne dined on a three-course dinner at Dustin Yellin’s Pioneer Works on Red Hook as they took in the reverie of Comey’s ambitious pieces that revealed a streamlined celebration of functional chic that was designed to entice the part of us that remains deeply connected to the roots of organic elegance.

The collection was delightfully cohesive in its presentation with hints of sedated luxury that utilized the armor of convenience to gorgeously battle the elements. From the intricately confined shearling jacket to the impeccably stated sweaters that sported hanging fringes, there was an assortment of girlish charm encased in the astute awareness of the power that comes with boldly tackling the assignment of wearable art.
