Daniel Craig will be back as Agent 007 in the new installment of the James Bond franchise, titled Spectre.
During the launch event at the famed Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England, Director Sam Mendes confirmed the official title and revealed that the highly anticipated film will be released in the UK on October 23 2015.
It was also an opportunity to meet the new Bond girls – Monica Bellucci, and Lea Seydoux who will embody the roles of Lucia Sciarra and Madeline Swann respectively. And even more exciting is the addition of actor Christoph Waltz who will play a character named Oberhauser. Rumor has it that Waltz will be reviving an old rival – Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who was attached to Spectre – Special Executive for Counter-Intelligence, a global crime ring that Blofeld headed.
Ralph Fiennes (M) and Naomie Harris (Moneypenny) will be back to reprise their roles.
The event also showed off the iconic Aston Martin DB10, which will be the uber stylish vehicle that will accompany Bond on his latest assignment, as he junkets all over the world as a representative of Her Majesty’s Secret Service. As always production will be stationed at Pinewood Studios with diversions in key locations, including London, Mexico City, Rome, Tangier and Erfoud in Morocco. Bond will also have generous time sloping it down the Alps of Solden, Obertilliach, and Lake Altaussee in Austria.
Craig, 46, has experienced continued success since he stepped into the role of James Bond back in 2006 with Casino Royale. After a dry spell – the franchise has been energetically revived and it looks it intends to stay that way.
