Fashion Week is still underway in Paris, and the looks are reminiscent of what we have seen on the New York and London Runways – homage to luminosity and femininity but with an edge.
From Balenciagia to Christian Dior to Vivienne Westwood and Balmain, all the designers were focused on celebrating the female form and emphasizing luxurious fabrics and cool rainbow hues. The models sported sleek and modern hairdos complimented by simple but exaggerated makeup.
There was something for everyone to appreciate. Westwood retained her signature damsel in distress mixed with that fun edgy avant-garde look. Dior embraced a more polished and elegant theme with fun flirty dresses and skirts. Balenciaga took a bigger gamble and showcased a collection that was both strong and bold. There were no pretty flowy fabrics here. It was borderline sci-fi but with a clean and whimsical tone.
And Balmain heightened the need for all of us to be fit and trim, thanks to the body-conscious pieces encased in embroidery and embellishments.
There is certainly more to come from the Paris runways. So far so good!
