Award shows like these rarely deviate from the norm, and so what is revealed is a recycled list of names with sprinkles of new upcoming talents.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/2012\/05\/23\/bet-awards-2012-nominations-announced\/bet-awards-2012\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3024\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3024\" title=\"bet-awards-2012\" src=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/bet-awards-2012.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/bet-awards-2012.jpg 500w, http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/bet-awards-2012-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/mytrendybuzz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/bet-awards-2012-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Last year <strong>BET<\/strong> expanded their circuit to accommodate a new category to recognize emerging talents from Africa \u2013 <strong>Best International Act: Africa.<\/strong> It\u2019s interesting that it took this long for\u00a0the network\u00a0to\u00a0acknowledge a continent that is clearly known for its immense contribution to the genre on a global scale. But the present climate that seems to be hailing \u201cAll things Africa\u201d must have been the incentive. Nevertheless it\u2019s certainly a step in the right direction.<\/p>\n<p>Box office superstar<strong> Samuel L.
